Would a filler work for retracted alar rim? (Photo)

I wanted explore fillers before getting a rhinoplasty. Can fillers help a bit with hanging columella? Would it slightly help the retracted alar? What bothers me the most is how much my nostrils show & how flared they look. I feel like by only fixing the hanging columella my nostrils are too long and it would not fix the flared nostrils. I have looked for rhinoplasty cases for noses like mine but they are hard to find. If you have suggestions please share.

As long as your nasal tip is not sensitive, you could consider extractions by an aesthetician, or perhaps a strip as you suggest. The filler was placed deep to your nasal skin and should not be affected by a skin treatment. Hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

If you would like a more definitive answer to your question, please consider re-asking this with photographs of your nose. In general, when somebody presents to our office with a bulbous nasal tip appearance, we recommend rhinoplasty surgery to create a narrower nasal tip appearance, not fillers...

Rhinoplasty surgery involves operating on the bony and cartilaginous skeleton of the nose, not the skin. Since microneedling and laser's address issues that are only skin deep, I do not believe that these modalities would lead to a significant change in somebody's nasal appearance. Thank you for...
