If the seroma is drained, and it is a firm bump that doesn’t feel like it’s filled with fluid, a steroid injection should help prevent scar tissue formation.Firm massage with your fingers for several minutes a day may help resolve the bump faster, but run it by your surgeon first.This may take several weeks to disappear completely, but you should notice a gradual improvement over that time.Best wishes,Dr. Jay
If your seroma was drained and you received a steroid injection, you've done most of what can be done. It should heal but it will take a long time. Its best to follow with your surgeon.
before you start doing things to it... was fluid aspirated out from it to confirm a seroma? Could it be a saliva leak? Is it a suture pulling your skin in less than ideal ways? Is it from the dissection that was done when your flap was elevated? Just so many possibilities and they all have different solutions and if your surgeon is a board certified plastic surgeon, I would have to assume you are being treated properly.
You may need a minor revision procedure to change the direction of the lines along your jaw line. It looks like that the skin directions may need to be changed to a less horizontal sweeping motion. This can be done by using the previous incisions and redraping the skin so that it sits...
A formal neck lift with plication of the neck bands together called a "corset plastysmaplasty" usually solves this issue. It's definitely not a "mini lift" however minilifts alone usually get only subtle results. Best Wishes!!
