Is an electric microneedle pen better than a manual Derma Roller?

I don't recommend doing these treatments yourself, they should be done by a professional for best results. With microneedling, I always add lasers and prp to improve outcomes. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

An electric microneedling device is likely less tiring and more likely to get you an even result due to the consistency of a motor. Performing this at home is more likely to lead to complications, ineffective and uneven treatments. It is best to have a formal skin evaluation and to have your treatment performed in a physician's office. For the most effective microneedling result, you would need to achieve deeper depth ~1mm or greater and this cannot be provided by home microneedling kits. Hope this helps!!

Regardless of what you may read or see on blogs, microneedle treatment should not be performed at home. You can cause pigmentation, injury, scarring, bleeding, and infection. It is best if it is performed by a dermatologist and numerous other treatments can be used such as PRP in addition to this procedure. 

You will likely get more consistent and significant results with microneedling delivered by a certified and licensed provider.  I typically incorporate prp to further maximize collagen induction and can be aggressive with depth of penetration.  Consult with a board-certified and experienced cosmetic physician.

Show answer YES. If you are going to do it at home, don't go more than 0,5 mm. For better results, use energy based micro needling with PRP, done by a specialist.
