Answer: Understanding Hair loss and hair loss treatment options: hair transplant, prp and progesterone There is no medical evidence that shows this will improve hair growth. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Thuja While I doubt Thuja will have any significant impact on your hair, good or bad, I suppose it couldn't hurt to try. I would recommend a more proven medicine though, such as Finasteride/Minoxidil or even just laser therapy if your hair is mostly intact.

Answer: Thuja orientalis: evidence in hair loss is minimal (at best) Homoepathic or not - I am all for treatments with good evidence and good record of being helpful. The homeopathic treatment Thuja has limited medical evidence.Thuja orientalis is a homeopathic treatment that comes from the coniferous tree in the cypress family Cupressaceae and is found all over China, Japan, and Korea. It has been used to promote hair growth in the oriental medicine. In some limited studies T. occidentalis was found to contain a 5α-reductase inhibitor activity that suppresses the peripheral conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Of the over 300 studies in the medical literature, only a few pertain to Thuja for hair loss. Other studies its role as a cancer treatment and anti inflammatory treatment.Of the published studies, most are in mice - showing evidence of hair growth promotion in mice with shaved skin. These were small studies (10 mice per group) and not pertaining to any specific hair disease model.Use of Thuja has limited evidence. There is no standard recommendation on use, frequency, dose. As with many things in hair loss - it is guided mainly by caveat emptor (buyer beware).
