I had traditional lipo on my whole back. I was told I had good skin elasticity but I feel like my back looks droopy. Would having Vaser lipo and J Plasma help with the skin droopy look and would that help with the dimpling on my legs or make it worse?
Answer: VASER and J Plasma Great question. Often times, "droopy" skin forms either skin laxity or redundancy. The difference between the two is that skin redundancy is skin excess, which is best treated via excision. Skin laxity is looseness of skin, but not necessarily an excess. This is best treated with Renuvion J Plasma or BodyTite. In your case, based off of a picture, it appears that the issue is skin laxity, and that Renuvion J Plasma or BodyTite would be a great treatment option for you. In my practice, I tell my patients that they will have a 40-60% improvement in the loose skin (as opposed to 100% improvement if they were to have an excision). I'd be happy to discuss with you further. Hope this helps. -Dr. Satey

Answer: Secondary energy Liposuction for skin tightening I have a little faith that energy devices like VASER or J plasma will make any visible difference in regards To skin tightening. I have direct first-hand experience with both and did not see these as devices that contribute to skin tightening. I was especially disappointed with J plasma as being a fairly useless piece of equipment and have since sold mine. Unfortunately there is no good skin tightening technology other than surgical excision which leaves scars. Radio frequency treatments and micro or macro needling may give it very potentially visible changes but they are not really skin tightening Procedures. You could consider liposuction of your arms to get the more proportionate with your previously treated torso. You’ll find that those who have these devices and are self promoting their services and equipment will be much more enthusiastic. Like I said, I have first-hand experience with both and owned the J plasma for about a year. Secondary Liposuction can give it further Liposuction results but it is not a skin treatment. Typically secondary Liposuction can deliver about 25% of what the first procedure was able to accomplish. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
