I had traditional lipo on my whole back. I was told I had good skin elasticity but I feel like my back looks droopy. Would having Vaser lipo and J Plasma help with the skin droopy look and would that help with the dimpling on my legs or make it worse?
Answer: Lipo360 Back - VASER HD, J Plasma/Renuvion/Inmode BodyTite tightening, fat grafting for buttock lift/BBL, Cellfina/Sculptra yes internal heating and liposuction done more aggressively should make this better otherwise you would need a back lift with a surgical scar. my whole practice is doing lipoabdominoplasty, or at least liposuction with internal heating (which is not the gold standard for skin tightening with body contouring). the smaller you are before liposuction the more contouring you can get from the procedure. most of my liposuction patients get pre and post surgical optimization with hormonal therapy (see link to help boost their weight loss before surgery and help them heal after). You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. Traditional liposuction awake and smart liposuction are old methods and do very poorly for tightening skin or significant skin tightening or contouring. Small problem areas can be improved slightly by these methods. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heat the skin with radio-frequency devices such as J PLASMA/RENUVION, InMode BodyTite, ThermiRF to heat the under surface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HIDEF VASER contouring and can only be done by a well . trained body contouring specialist. At the same time fat should be harvested, PRP and stem cells added and injected into muscles or indentations/cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. This is known as a Brazilian butt lift when you inject the fat to the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with cellfina, sculptra, subcision and/or fillers such as bellafill, renuva synthetic fat, or sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery then it will need to be removed such as lower abdominal skin (tummy tuck/abdominoplasty), breast skin (breast lift), arm skin (brachioplasty). Overall you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. Answer: VASER and J Plasma Great question. Often times, "droopy" skin forms either skin laxity or redundancy. The difference between the two is that skin redundancy is skin excess, which is best treated via excision. Skin laxity is looseness of skin, but not necessarily an excess. This is best treated with Renuvion J Plasma or BodyTite. In your case, based off of a picture, it appears that the issue is skin laxity, and that Renuvion J Plasma or BodyTite would be a great treatment option for you. In my practice, I tell my patients that they will have a 40-60% improvement in the loose skin (as opposed to 100% improvement if they were to have an excision). I'd be happy to discuss with you further. Hope this helps. -Dr. Satey

Answer: Will Vaser lipo with J Plasma help dimpling and skin droopiness? Products like J plasma and BodyTite help to cause some skin contraction that will assist some with droopiness. Having more lipo may make the problem worse. Leg dimpling is generally caused by cellulite which is difficult to predict the final appearance after lipo and j plasma/bodytite. It may improve or in some cases even look worse. Other treatments for leg dimples like Morpheus 8 may be a better treatment option for that area. As always, be sure to carefully research the doctor doing your procedure to increase the chance of having a favorable outcome.

Answer: Will Vaser lipo with J Plasma help dimpling and skin droopiness? Thank you for your question and photo. You did not post a preop photo for comparison, but it seems you still have excess fat and rolls that do not allow the skin to tighten. A secondary surgery is always more challenging, and I would not undertake this without using the VASER technique for both deep and superficial fat emulsification. This technique in the hands of a well trained plastic surgeon will give you the best results. Also, one cannot just liposuction the folds and rolls only. The undermining and release with the VASER has to go at least to the lateral chest wall, waist and hips, but preferably all the way around. This will lead to "shrink wrap" skin tightening over your bony and muscle anatomy. Might or might not need Renuvion or J-Plasma. This is determined during an in person examination. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck. See attached web reference.

Answer: Secondary energy Liposuction for skin tightening I have a little faith that energy devices like VASER or J plasma will make any visible difference in regards To skin tightening. I have direct first-hand experience with both and did not see these as devices that contribute to skin tightening. I was especially disappointed with J plasma as being a fairly useless piece of equipment and have since sold mine. Unfortunately there is no good skin tightening technology other than surgical excision which leaves scars. Radio frequency treatments and micro or macro needling may give it very potentially visible changes but they are not really skin tightening Procedures. You could consider liposuction of your arms to get the more proportionate with your previously treated torso. You’ll find that those who have these devices and are self promoting their services and equipment will be much more enthusiastic. Like I said, I have first-hand experience with both and owned the J plasma for about a year. Secondary Liposuction can give it further Liposuction results but it is not a skin treatment. Typically secondary Liposuction can deliver about 25% of what the first procedure was able to accomplish. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
