Having had 4 previous C-sections will not prevent the performance of a tummy tuck.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
A tummy tuck is commonly done after multiple caesarian sections and often the scar can be improved at the same time. Abdominoplasty is part of the mommy makeover for this very reason, especially after multiple pregnancies and C-sections.
yes, you would probably be one of the best candidates as long as you Are healthy and at a good weight.
You can certainly have a tummy tuck if you have had multiple cesarean sections. I commonly perform tummy tucks in patients where that is the case.
You can still have a tummy tuck after four C-sections as long as you are healed from your last C-section. The C-section scar is often removed and replaced with the tummy tuck scar. It is probably better to have your tummy tuck once you are done having children or don't plan on having additional children in the near future.
The number of C sections does not effect the abdominoplasty procedure. There may be some scar tissue in the C section area but that is no real concern to an experienced plastic surgeon.Consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.Best wishes
A woman who has previously had a cesarean section approach to childbirth is often a great candidate for abdominoplasty. A common occurrence after a C-section is a scar that results in fixation of the skin to the abdominal wall muscle. The tight scar associated with skin that is stretched and loose with abdominal rectus muscles that are separated results in an emphasis of the body changes of pregnancy. By removing the C-section scars, repairing the muscle separation and removing excess skin a woman's abdomen can be returned to a youthful contour. A woman must be done having children as the abdominoplasty procedure results in changes to the muscle layer that are permanent, and could complicate a pregnancy.
Dear kimsolovely,Having a tummy tuck after one or more C-sections is extremely common. Please see an experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to see you are a good candidate.Warmest wishes,Larry Fan, MD
By having a tummy tuck after 4 pregnancies/C-sections, you accomplish two goals. First, with each pregnancy, your abdominal wall stretches out. When you have a tummy tuck, the plastic surgeon tightens the abdominal wall to flatten your tummy. Second, the tummy tuck scar will replace your current C-section scar so you don't have to worry about waking up from surgery with 2 separate scars. Plus we can lower the tummy tuck scar so it's low enough on your abdomen to be below the panty line. After tummy tuck with muscle repair, most of patients wake up reasonably comfortable - there is a reason for this - the use of intraoperative injection of local anesthetic into the surgical area and muscles being repaired. For most of my patients, I use Celebrex and Acetominophen (does...
I apologize for your current state, it is hard to evaluate early results but I doubt your results will be great, I would follow along with your PS and when completely healed and if unhappy would recommend second opinions, a few at least to beocme confident in your plan.
