Laser liposuction - will it help with hang over tummy pouch? (Photos)

Question

I had a c section almost 9 years ago however I’ve had 2 kids since with another one on the way due in less than 10 weeks. I was wondering if liposuction would help get rid of the little hang over tummy pouch I have from the c section once of course the little one is here. I am absolutely disgusted with the hang over and it makes me feel gross when trying to wear cute outfits. Thank you for any feedback on which routes to take

I understand how frustrating a C-section overhang can feel, but I would wait until after delivery, recovery, and weight stabilization before judging the area. Pregnancy changes the skin, fat, and abdominal wall, so the right option cannot be chosen accurately now.
Liposuction, including laser liposuction, can reduce fat but it does not tighten loose skin or repair muscle separation. If the pouch is mostly fat with good skin tone, lipo may help; if it is skin laxity or a low scar fold, a mini tummy tuck or tummy tuck may be more effective. Start with your OB clearance, then an in-person plastic surgery exam.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Laser liposuction, such as the Smartlipo® procedure I use at my practice, removes excess fat and can help tighten moderately lax skin. After multiple pregnancies, a "stomach pooch" likely involves excess skin that would require abdominoplasty (a tummy tuck) to produce the desired results. A plastic surgeon could also repair separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) during a tummy tuck. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to learn about your options.

Hello, first of all, congratulations on your pregnancy.
After multiple pregnancies and a C section, the “hang over” area is usually not just fat. It often involves skin laxity and sometimes muscle separation. Liposuction, including laser assisted liposuction, removes fat but does not remove excess skin or repair muscle.
If the issue is primarily loose skin or a fold caused by scar tethering, removing fat alone may actually make the overhang look more pronounced rather than improved. Laser liposuction does not replace skin removal in cases where laxity is present.
The most effective solution for a true lower abdominal overhang is typically a tummy tuck performed after you have completed pregnancies and your weight has stabilized. That procedure allows removal of excess skin and correction of muscle separation if present.
It would be wise to wait until after delivery, recovery and weight stabilization before considering any surgical plan. Addressing the anatomy properly at the right time will provide a more reliable and lasting result.

A combination of VASER liposuction and a mini tummy tuck is often more effective. This allows for fat removal and tightening/removal of excess lower abdominal skin to improve the contour of the C-section area.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!  You will want to wait until you are six months postpartum before considering plastic surgery.  At that time visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for an evaluation.  Typically a tummy tuck is the procedure that most benefits postpartum women if the issues are subcutaneous fat, excess skin and/or muscle wall separation.  But some can get great results from liposuction alone.  Your surgeon will be able to guide you after an examination and discussion of your goals.
