I'm unhappy with the bottom half of my face. In photos and in the mirror I aways look at my chin/bottom half of my face and jawline. I exercise regularly and eat a well balanced diet. What would you recommend to feel confident with this portion of my face again?
Answer: Buccaneers fat removal/ submental fat reduction? (photos) Hello, thank you for your question. It is hard to tell without a physical examination. I recommend you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Buccal Pad Thanks for your question and Pictures The buccal fat pad is a rounded mass of fat in the middle of your cheek. It’s located between facial muscles, in the hollow area beneath your cheekbone. The size of your buccal fat pads affects your face shape. Everyone has buccal fat pads. However, the size of buccal fat pads can vary greatly. If you have larger buccal fat pads, you might feel like your face is too round or full. You can be a candidate for a Buccal Pad removal surgery. Best of Luck

Answer: Facial Definition in Healthy Individuals Hi Ellie, thanks for sending the pictures. You have a healthy weight and good skin quality. Your mandible and chin are not integrated. There is a geniomandibular groove and poor definition of the jawline and angle. I would suggest using Radiesse to augment the jawline and this will pull up a lot of the slack of loose skin. If your bifid chin bothers you this can be corrected with filler as well. Based on your weight I would not recommend buccal fat removal without making sure you're seeing an expert. It would hollow you out too much which we do not want.

Answer: Lower Half Of Face It is noit clear whether you are referring to the shape of the soft tissues around your chi, the shape of the chin itself, or both. You would have to be very specific about your lower facial concerns to determine of soft tissue reduction, chin reshaping or both may be needed.

Answer: Treatment options Do you have an attractive face and a lower 1/3 of your face is fairly proportionate and correct. I would suggest not having too much intervention. I would definitely steer away from buccal fat pad reduction. You may seriously regret that decision as facial volume depletion sets in down the road. Schimaneck Liposuction is a pretty straightforward easy procedure that generally delivers good results when done by someone talented. Long lasting fillers like Radiesse work well to augment the mandible to some degree. Overall I think you’re being hard on yourself and you should appreciate the natural beauty your parents and God bestowed upon you. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
