Buccal fat removal and nose job combined in 1 surgery? Average recovery time? (photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty, a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly, and a dorsal hump reduction.  It is possible to combine rhinoplasty and buccal fat removal into one procedure.  The recovery time is one week.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.  If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. A buccal fat removal can easily be performed at the same time as a rhinoplasty.  It will add very little to the recovery process and, in general, is considered a fairly simple procedure to perform.  The difficult part of the surgery is knowing how much fat to remove, as excess fat removal can have serious consequences (producing a “hollowed appearance”). The price will vary widely based on surgeon and location.

 In our practice, we do not recommend buccal fat pad removal due to the fact that the face is going to lose fat with aging process anyway. A Closed rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish refinement of the nasal tip, shaving down the dorsal hump and narrowing the bridge line. All  of the incisions are located on the inside of the nose. No external  incisions are required.
