Age 30 and just now looking Into a rhinoplasty. It used to be more upturned growing up than it is now and I got bullied a lot. Even though I’ve grown into it a bit, I still get the ‘Button nose’ and ‘fairy nose’ as ‘compliments’. At this point i cant tell if its just a good fit for my face or if i should seriously consider rhinoplasty.

Across the frontal, oblique, basal, and profile photos, the nose appears short and mildly upturned with visible nostrils, but it also looks proportionate to the patient’s soft facial features. The casual camera angles limit precise assessment, and surgery is not medically necessary simply because others have commented on the shape. If the desired change is a longer nose with less upward tip rotation, the operation differs from the common hump-reduction examples online. It may require a septal extension or columellar strut graft, controlled repositioning of the tip cartilages, and sometimes dorsal or alar support. That can be technically more demanding than reducing a hump because the surgeon must add reliable support while preserving the airway and avoiding an overly long, stiff, or downward-pointing tip. In a primary nose, septal cartilage may be sufficient, but the examination determines available support and skin flexibility. Before deciding, define the exact change you want rather than reacting to old teasing. Standardized imaging and a conservative simulation can show whether a small decrease in nostril show would preserve the character that already suits your face.
