Smoking marijuana before BBL?

Question

Im getting a BBL on june 10th. My doctor has instructed discontinue all medications and alcohol one week prior to surgery. He said all those factors will interact negatively with the anesthesia. Now i dont smoke cigarettes but I do smoke marijuana daily. Im too shy to ask him about it. Im planning to discontinue 10 days before surgery. Does anyone have any insight on the effects of smoking marijuana before surgery or if it has negative interactions with the anesthesia?

I tell my patients to discontinue smoking (including marijuana) at least 2 weeks before and after surgery. Each surgeon has their own guidlines you should feel comfortable discussing this with your surgeon.

First, you should always tell your doctor about your medical history.  Second, any smoking is no good. I usually tell patients to avoid smoking for 2-4 weeks before surgery and 2-4 after.
