Facial asymmetry is very common and of no concern.  If it becomes noticeable than the best solution is to use a filler on the side that is concave or less prominent.RegardsDr. J

Selfies have increased awaremenss of facial assymetery. We are used to looking at ourselves in a mirror. When you see a photo, the image is reversed and asymmetries are more evident. These can often be treated with facial fillers.

Dear Daniella126,Most people (except supermodels!) have asymmetry between both sides of the face.  If it is obvious to others, or it bothers you, you can do something address it cosmetically.  Initially, filler is a good option as it will give you an idea of the improvement you will gain.  Fillers, while lasting a year or so, are temporary.  Sometimes surgery may be less expensive in the long run, as it can provide permanent improvement.  At times, the asymmetry does not only cause a cosmetic issue, but it may also cause a functional one: misalignment of the jaw causing jaw pain and abnormal bite....as one example.  If this is an issue, a surgical correction may be covered by your insurer.All the best,Dr. Michelle Yagoda
