How long should I wait between breast fat transfer procedures?

I generally have patients wait at least 6 months, and preferably 12 months, prior to a second procedure.  Most of your swelling will have resolved by 3 months, and any fat which is not going to "take" will have been absorbed by 6-12 months.  Some patients notice their final results at 1 year, and therefore I generally like to wait this period prior to re-grafting fat to the breasts.Best wishes,Dr. Naidu

Most prefer that you wait at least 3 months before doing the fat transfer. Your surgeon can help decide when you are ready for the second phase. You do need time to let yourself heal and the swelling to subside.

I would wait a minimum of three months after your first surgery before proceeding with breast fat transfer to increase their size. You want your body to heal and recover completely from the first surgery. In addition, your new breasts will settle and change over time, which can take several months or even a year, and you want to know what you're dealing with before undergoing another procedure. Thus, sometimes it can be worthwhile to wait longer than theee months. You want the best possible results with the fewest procedures, and patience can be a virtue!
