Can a vertical dent in my forehead be fixed with filler? (photo)

Question

About a year ago I noticed a vertical dent about an inch long from my hair line, I noticed it a few days after receiving botox (not my first time) it seems to be betting More noticiable and now it looks like it goes all the way to my eyebrow. I think there may be a vein as when I cried recently it buldged out... how ever it looks and feels like a dent. Its making me very self conscious. Can anyone confirm if one, it could of been caused by botox, two is filer could help and three what is it?

As we age, the face naturally loses volume, specifically in areas like the temples and brow area. Soft tissue fillers like Radiesse are great for lifting the brow, filling out the temples, and making the face appear more youthful. Sculptra is an alternative. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If it is a dent, then it can prbably be improved with filler. If you are considering a treatment, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

It's hard to tell from the photo, so an in person evaluation with a very skilled filler provider in your area is your best bet. Volume loss from aging or scars can be improved with fillers, however, the forehead is an area that requires a high level of expertise to treat safely and effectively. Thank you for your question and the accompanying photo. This is a great question as we see this gradually develop in many Botox patients over time. Find an anatomical image of the frontalis muscles of the forehead, our main targets for forehead Botox. You will see that the vertical line lies between the two frontalis muscles themselves. In short, I do think this is related to forehead Botox. It is possible to fill this area if you go to a skilled injector. Best of luck to you!

Although any area on the face that has volume loss can be treated with fillers, some areas are prone to vascular accidents and using filters to treat wrinkles is not the best use of filters. Botox injected properly will reduce wrinkles not exaggerate them. If it is truly an area of volume loss, Yes, a filler may be used cautiously.

This is caused by loss of subcutaneous tissue over time exposing the area between the right and left frontalis muscles. If anything, Botox would make it better by causing atrophy of the muscle. It can be improved by use of a filler or fat. Make sure you choose an expert injector who understands the anatomy well.
