My skin is thin and I have darkening in the corners as well. Which type of filler is best?
Answer: PRP injections Hi @Nozee! I recommend PRP injections which works great for thin skin and hyperpigmentation. PRP which stands for Platelet Rich Plasma is a natural and non-surgical solution to treat under eye circles and bags. PRP is highly effective for restoring sunken eyes. Generally, two vials of blood will be collected from the patient and placed into a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins and separates the platelets from the rest of the blood components. The plasma contains the valuable collagen and growth factors from the rest of the blood's components. The plasma is then drawn up into a syringe and injected in the tear trough area. Typically, 3 sessions is adequate for optimal results.

Answer: Dark Circles/Eye Bags/Wrinkles -- Fillers Belotero, Juvederm Volbella; Laser Like Fraxel/Co2/J Plasma; Microneedling/PRP; Peels A combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers (beletero), lasers, (plasma pen,) and microneedling/(RF) + PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Tear trough filler Thanks for your question. We typically use Belotero, a soft, thin filler to fill the tear troughs. However, we absolutely recommend seeing a certified, experienced injector! We wish you the best!

Answer: Best Filler for Thin Skin in the Tear Troughs We prefer using a soft and thinner filler for the tear troughs like Belotero. Restylane may be a little too firm and can cause a Tyndall Effect (a bluish hue) underneath the skin for those who have lighter and thinner skin. Juvederm may draw in too much water and can cause excess swelling. It is best to have a consultation with your medical provider so that they can assess the proper material for your skin type and anatomy. Good Luck. Chase Lay, MD

Answer: Treating tear troughs My my belief is that there is no better filler for the tear trough area than the patient's own fat. Even when the patients have thicker skin and some fat present in the area. The results from fat grafting should be permanent and natural as long as they are performed by a plastic surgeon who is well-versed in fat grafting techniques. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
