Does this look like normal healing for 4 days post op? I saw my dr 3 days post op and he said all looked fine. I dont have the tape, i have glud instead. just wondering if my healing looks normal and also, the pleating on my tummy tuck, is this normal or common? does it mean bad stitching? ALSO, the liposcution on my flanks, i just had a look. i still have flanks when i stand, just not as chubby? could this just be swelling? because im disappointed if thats how my flanks are going to stay.

Answer: Wound healing early post op Hi, You are FAR too early to judge your results. The pleating and the bunching of the abdominal incision is normal in that the two lengths of the elliptical excision of your abdominal tissue are not equal so you need to "bunch" the tissue in the closure so you do not leave "dogears" on the end or ends of the abdominal incision. Your breast healing does require close following by your doctor. you have areolar bruising and although this can be encountered this early and then resolve, you have what appears to be darkened areas in the lower parts of the areolas. Your doctor needs to reassure you that the blood supply is adequate for the healing. Any swelling in the areas of surgery will require months to have the final evaluation. It is very common for patients to be upset in the early days because of all of the changes that are going on and have yet to settle. Stay close to your surgeon and you will get information as to the entire process.
