I had a beard transplant nearly 7 weeks ago and although I have shaved the beard area now I am still very red around my beard line. It's almost like someone has dyed my face a red colour. Also I still have tiny holes on my face and chin area that don't seem to heal. Someone suggested using retinol but I'm worried about the reaction to that

Minoxidil is a good starting point. There is good evidence that some people will grow facial hair using it. But it only works as long as you use it. Hair that grows due to minoxidil falls out a few months after discontinuing it.There are no long-term side effects to be worried about, though....
If there was facial nerve damage you need to see a doctor in person for an examination.Sometimes it is normal to have swelling after surgery but rare after one month.Swelling can be a sign of infection. (No way to tell with photos alone.)
