One of my eyebrows is higher than the other, and that same eyelid is lower. I suspect there’s a shared cause. What’s the best fix for this asymmetry? Is it a brow lift, a blepharoplasty, or could it be improved with Botox, if it is the consequence of one brow muscle working harder than the other?
Answer: Facial Sculpting with Fillers | Brow Ptosis / Asymmetry | Browlift | Upper Blepharoplasty | Eyelid Lift Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this, depending on your exact situation. For less significant issues, there are nonsurgical treatments: To give the eyebrows a nice lift, we use injectable fillers to improve the eyebrow, upper eye, forehead and temple. A filler is placed on the bone and in the fat pads of these areas to contour and lift without it looking overdone. We use cannulas to limit pain and swelling. Surgery (browlift and/or upper blepharoplasty) is a great option for more significant improvement- for example if there is more substantial eyebrow drooping or asymmetry. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Eyelid ptosis Eyelid ptosis, or droop, will create a situation where the eyelid seems lower. Your internal subconscious compensatory mechanism is to elevate the eyebrow on the same side to help elevate the droopy eyelid. The fix is neither a brow lift nor a blepharoplasty, but rather ptosis repair to "tighten" the muscle that elevates the eyelid. This should relax the brow and improve the asymmetry. The link below will give you additional information.

Answer: Browlift You would benefit from a browlift. This will correct both sides. Your eyebrows are below the level of the orbital rim. You may or may not need an upper blepharoplasty. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Consider A Nonsurgical HA Filler Browlift From the photo provided, it appears that the use of a robust HA volumizing filler can to the area below the lateral third of the lower eyebrow can give the necessary lift to harmonize the elevations on both sides. In the hands of a board certified cosmetic dermatologist filler expert, treatment should take no more than about five minutes to perform. The result is typically immediate, engenders little to no significant downtime, and evokes an on-the-spot "Wow!" reaction.

Answer: Brow and eyelid asymmetry It is very likely that you have a condition known as eyelid ptosis, most likely on both eyes. There is also the asymmetry of brows. A combination of ptosis correction surgery and unilateral, endoscopic brow lift should be considered. In-person consultation with a board-certified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.
