Welts after Botox? Is it an allergy?

I would strongly suggest to go back to your injector and determine the cause. This is very concerning and needs to be addressed. 

Small raised welts are normal after Botox. However, your describing something more intense so have your injector examine you to determine the cause.

Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon to have small welts after injection. This does depend on how fast or slow the Botox was injected, how gentle or rough the injection was and who did the injection. The welts will go down as you said in an hour time and should not have any long term effects. If you still have any concerns, I recommend contacting your injector. Best of Luck!

Having small welts after a Botox injection is not uncommon – and it depends a lot on who did the injection, how fast or slow it was injected, and how gentle or rough the injections were.  They will go down as yours did and this should not have any long term effects or should it cause you not to continue with the proper injector in the future

I think the red welts are due to the special saline we mix the botox with. Also I've noticed that it is worse when the mixture is really cold. 
Not allergy just irritation.

Patients often get slightly raised bumps from the injection. These like you said go down shortly after injection.

Hello princessberni,Thank you for sharing your question and concerns with us. The small red welts that dissipated after an hour would not be abnormal. However you seem to be experiencing some symptoms beyond this. Not likely an allergy however would be best to see the professional who did your injections for an evaluation to assure all is okay. 

Allergic reactions to Botox are virtually non-existent. Did you have injections from the same doctor or someone new?  They could be the result of just rough technique but contact your doctor about your concerns

With botox, a small welt that disappears after an hour is normal. What you are describing may be an allergy, irritation, infection, or other?  Please go back to the person who did your injection for evaluation and further management.

Welts are common after Botox injections . It is a mixture of saline and product that is absorbed into the skin and muscle. They usually receed with in 15 minutes or less. If you have a single isolated prolonged welt, it may have s small amount of blood underneath which will take longer to  disappear. Stinging and itching are not common but could possibly be related to cosmetic make up or skin care product that was on your skin prior to injection and not fully cleansed before the injection . It is not an allergy
