Does botox reduce fat? Can it reduce fat cheekbones and fat jawline?

Botox
cannot be used to melt away facial fat, but it can be used tighten and lift
the muscles in the jawline to give it a smoother and softer appearance. To
reduce the fat, you could use Laser Liposuction, but a photo would be
beneficial in determining which treatment you would be most suited to.

Botox is not used for fat reduction since it works by reducing muscle movement not by destroying fat. If your face is round due to masseter muscle thickening Botox can be used to reduce the muscle mass and thin the contour of your face. If true fat destruction is required such as under the chin, then liposuction or Kybella would be of benefit. Dear colonialosangeles,Botox does not melt fat. Botox works by decreasing the function of whatever muscle it is injected to. Kybella is an injection that is approved for fat reduction in the chin/neck area. Best of luck!

Hi.  Botox does not shrink fat.  Botox works by softening muscle action and reducing dynamic wrinkles.    There in an injectable called Kybella which does melt fat but it is only FDA approved for the neck area (double chin) and I would not recommend injecting it in your cheeks.  

colonialosangeles.   Photos would help, but Botox can be quite useful shrinking the masseter muscles of the cheek region to slim your face. It does not dissolve fat, but can have a striking effect, but initially, may take 1-2 sessions to achieve the desired result. Botox does not "melt fat"  it a neurotoxin that blocks nerve activity in the muscles, causing temporary reduction in muscle activity.    This will smooth out wrinkles in certain areas of the face.  Without pictures it is difficult to assess your features and give you options that might address your concerns.   Your best bet is to schedule a consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area.  Best of luck!

Hi There Thank you for your question.I would suggest not going to be successful but what about Kybella?This has certainly been attempted but is idiosyncratic and could possibly leave your face a little uneven.I would refer to a maxillofacial surgeon and get some advice as to whether it is a good idea.Personally Facetite can tighten the skin extremely well but I would be very cautious about  removing any fat.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini
