Can I get liposuction on my legs with a BMI of 39? I’m 24 yo and have never gotten pregnant, my only medical problem is Asthma.

Get that liposuction procedure ASAP.  Those legs are begging for it and would do really well with tum. lipo under local.

At your BMI, I generally do not recommend liposuction treatment except for some exception cases and select areas of the body.  It would be healthier in the long term for you to consider calorie restriction to get your weight below BMI 35, and preferably closer to 30, since your BMI can be associate in the long term with health consequences such as heart disease and diabetes.

BMI is but one measure.  Distribution of fat and overall health as well as goals all factor into this decision.  Your BMI should be under 35 to lower the risks of complications during and after surgery and to insure maximum results. Usually, patients are advised to have a stable BMI of 30 or less, to make sure there is lesser risk of complications and better symmetry post op. However, that is on a case to case basis.Based on the photo, liposuction of the thighs, flanks and back may greatly improve the contours of your body and would give you the desired results. Hello, thank you for your question. I would suggest try loose some weight before surgery. In my practice, I try to document the amount of fat removed from each area. In patients where BMI is 30 or greater, symmetry, can be more challenging because there is more fat to remove. I would also suggest you consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

If you are losing weight, you should not consider any cosmetic surgery until your weight loss journey is complete.  Your current BMI presents heightened risk of complications. Best wishes.

What you should have in mind is to manage to get a BMI less than the 30%. This percentage represents the amount of fat that is in your body and in terms of that is that we perform or not a surgery.
