There really isn't too much that you can do to get the muscle to finally "give" other than massage and massage...I give my patients a little valium after surgery, taken with some motrin as well....but it does take time!!! It's usually 3 weeks before they even start to move...
It typically takes about 3 to 4 months until your breasts settle. By that time the bottom portion of your breasts will fill out becoming more natural appearance. This phenomenon is called drop and fluff. Please follow your surgeon's advice on how to enhance your results. A tensor bandage wrapped around the top portion of your breasts can help but asymmetry and odd shaped breasts in the days shortly after surgery is common. Keep an eye on your results then talk to your surgeon if you find that after four months, they still don't look good.
In general, it takes three months for everything to settle down after a breast augmentation. When the implants are under the muscle, the muscle needs to relax and stretch with the implant. In some women this is quick, but in others it can take quite awhile. Once you have been cleared to massage by your surgeon, then I would massage 2-3 times a day to help relax the tissues. I hope this helps.
Without seeing before and after pictures or knowing more about your surgery, it is impossible to give you specific information or advice. However, if you are immediate post op, then your surgeon may suggest a compression strap to help encourage the implant into a lower position. Good Luck.
As time goes by the muscl ewill stretch, and the implants will come down. Give it some time. If overly concerned, then you need to be examined.
I usually prescribe a muscle relaxant to my breast patients (cosmetic and reconstructive) to aid with the muscle spasm that usually accompanies this surgery. However based on your question, you may have a deformity that occurs if the muscle wasn't adequately released along the lower aspect. However I cannot determine this unless I examine you myself. It may also be an issue with your implant capsule, which can be more noticeable when the implant is placed above your muscle. Massaging the capsule and the implant can help minimize this sequelae as well.
How long it takes for breast implants to settle into the skin envelope and comform within the breast can depend on the implant size, breast size, and breast envelope. Early on we keep our patients in a snug bra and an upper band wrap, and the settling in can average four weeks to four months.
Absolutely. It's up to you whether you want larger breasts, too. You can just fix the tuberosity for a rounder breast shape.
It is possible to place implants up to 550 cc through an areolar size of at least 3 cm. This is best performed using the specific device called a Keller funnel. You should your board certified plastic surgeon regarding use of the same. I believe this device decreases the chances of dam...
Different surgeons feel differently about this. I feel at least one month is safe so the implants so there are no complications. Please check with your surgeons because there are different guidelines.
