What is this weird popping sound after breast reduction? (photo)

Question

I had it 3 weeks ago. All I did was put a little pressure on my stitches. I was looking at the skin that was bumpy. Should I be worry? I feel no pain? It been 4 mins.

Hi. Small lumps and bumps around scars are normal in the first few weeks after any surgery - these will go with time - if you massage the area this may help the lumps resolve. Regards Dr Charles Cope

You are only 3 weeks post op and it is usual to feel irregularities. The popping sound may well be the related to the stitches. Stitches dissolve over a number of weeks / months. I have found that barbed stitches are more likely to give the popping sound. This sensation is common and you should not be concerned. It will not effect your outcome.
