Very few surgeons use tissue glue (Dermabond) as the only means of closing an incision. It is generally just used as a reinforcement. The glue is not likely serving a function at this point and you should not be worried.
You have a number of steristrips in place over the incision and these all seem to be in place. If there is glue over the incision I would not be concerned about it peeling off after 3 weeks. Both liquiband and dermabond can stay visible for some time but the effect is negligible at 3 weeks. The glues are only used as either an extra layer of closure following suturing or as a dressing. If you had opening of the wounds you would have noticed discharge and the steristrips would have likely come off. I would not be concerned but I would contact your PS if you have any concerns.
After 21 days very un likely you could open the incisions by peeling the glued tape. But best to call your surgeon to discuss, or even better see your surgeon in person to have the tapes removed.///
your incisions are well on their way to healing. Peeling glue or those steri-strips should not adversely affect your wounds.
At this point in your healing process, the glue is not serving much purpose. Removing it is unlikely to cause a problem but it may be worth a call to your surgeon.Best,Dr. Pyle
