Will I need another breast reduction?

There is no definitive way to predict how weight loss will impact your breast size. If you gained weight and the breast size increased, it may decrease with weight loss. Some people gain and lose weight with no changes to the breast size.

Lababy13, I am sorry that you are continuing to deal with large breast despite surgery. Unfortunately, there is no way to know for sure if your breast will shrink with weight loss. Commonly this does happen with weight loss, but occasionally patients require a second reduction to achieve a desired size.

Thanks for your question! There's no way to tell how your breasts will change with weight loss. You should be at your optimal weight (or close to it) prior to proceeding with surgery. I would suggest getting there and then re-evaluating at that point. Good luck!

If a patient's breast grows and begins to cause physical, psychological, and functional problems, then she should undergo surgery according to my criteria. As long as the surgical technique is adequate, this will not cause problems. As the patient gains weight, her body proportions will change, such as her face getting wider, her arms getting thicker, and her chest getting broader. When a patient loses weight, the proportions of her breasts decrease as well, since breast tissue is made up of fat and glands. I suggest you consult with several board certified plastic surgeon.
