Hello Dr’s I have a problem I did a breast reduction 5 years ago had a spit stitch but it never bothered me and I assumed with time that the stitch would dissolve on it own and it never did now the spit stitch has flipped now on the inside on my boob and I can see the tiny little hole and the blue stitch itself and it’s been bothering me, can someone please direct to how to fix this and how much? My original has retired and referred to some colleagues but they were out of state.
Answer: Suture knot If you are unable to see a colleague of your original surgeon you can visit with another board certified plastic surgeon or your PCP in order to have the suture removed. Typically once removed the area heals quickly with minor home care.

Answer: Spit stitch Dear Bella2477, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Spit stitch has turned inside out after breast reduction 5 years ago. How can this be fixed? If a spit stitch has turned inside out after breast reduction surgery, it's essential to consult with your plastic surgeon for an evaluation and appropriate treatment. Here are some potential options for addressing this issue:1. Surgical Revision: Your plastic surgeon may recommend a surgical revision procedure to correct the problem. During this surgery, the spit stitch can be removed, and the incision site can be repaired to ensure proper healing and minimize the risk of complications.2. Scar Revision: If the issue is primarily related to the appearance of the scar where the spit stitch has turned inside out, scar revision surgery may be an option. This procedure aims to improve the appearance of the scar by repositioning or refining it, helping it blend more seamlessly with the surrounding skin.3. Non-Surgical Treatment: In some cases, non-surgical treatments such as laser therapy or silicone gel sheeting may be recommended to help improve the appearance of the scar and promote healing.4. Close Monitoring: If the issue is minor and not causing significant discomfort or complications, your plastic surgeon may advise close monitoring to ensure that the area heals properly over time. They may also provide instructions for proper wound care to prevent infection and promote healing. It's crucial to follow your plastic surgeon's recommendations and attend follow-up appointments to monitor the progress of the healing process. They can assess the situation and determine the most appropriate course of action to address the issue and ensure the best possible outcome.
