Thank you for your question and the photos. I think that you have a great result and do not appreciate any big asymmetry. Often, one crease is a little higher than the other and so the implant might ride a little higher on that side. I would say that is more common than not. I tell people that breasts are more like sisters than twins. Always a little bit of difference.
Dear Diligent429046,9 months after surgery your results are final. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Before photos would help but based on this one after photo, there doesn’t appear to be immediately obvious asymmetry. Some asymmetry is actually normal.
Yes your augmentation results look normal. We all have some degree of asymmetry to our breasts, and when they are augmented it may be more noticeable to us. In addition after augmentation we tend to scrutinize our breasts much more closely than before surgery.
Most implants start off high, and settle by about 3 months. Both of your implants seem to be a bit high for 9 months, although some women like the upper pole fullness,You do have a slightly rounder breast on your left, and narrower on the right and may have had this asymmetry before surgery.Ask your surgeon if he or she recommends anything such as massage, tummy time, or other things that may help your implants settle.
Excellent question. Most patients have asymmetries before surgery. A breast augmentation procedure usually does not address these asymmetries. It basically enhances the size and shape and this can sometimes make differences more visible. It seems like the breast fold is higher on your right breast. This breast is slightly smaller as well. Massages to help the implant drop may help. If not, a revision is necessary in order to release breast fold. This will increase the lower pole space so that the implant can drop into it. This will not correct size difference but it will get you as close as possible to symmetrical breasts without extra scars.Best of luck,Dr. Miguel Mota
They do look normal. I bet if you look at your before photos, you will still see the same difference, but with smaller volumes.
To make an assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we always need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. From the pictures you’ve included your augmentation it looks fine. All women have asymmetrical breast.Implant augmentation does not correct breast asymmetry, though it can compensate if one breast is larger than the other.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
Greetings,I think that it would be helpful for you to see your pre-operative photos which may reveal whether the higher right breast was higher before your surgery. Breast enlargements tend to provide you with a larger version of your unoperated breasts. You can always revisit your plastic surgeon to see if there is any further care that would improve your appearance. Your photos look like you have had a very natural result.Best Regards,
