Answer: Size Choice Thank you for your question and photos. Hopefully you've discussed the look you wish to achieve with your Plastic Surgeon. Choosing the right implant size is one of the most important parts of the breast augmentation procedure. Using a scientific formula known as Dimensional Breast Augmentation, your Plastic Surgeon can combine your desired results with a careful assessment of your body type to select the most appropriate implants to use in your surgery. The implant should be picked in accordance with your figure and the natural limits of your chest size in order to create an aesthetically pleasing outcome that appears as natural as possible. Without knowing your measurements I cannot tell you if 385 fits properly, but I recommend that you try on the implant sizers in office with a form-fitting top so that you can see the look of the volume on your body. Base your decision on the look you like, not a prediction of cup size as this cannot be guaranteed.

Answer: Breast Lift: Implant and Other Choices It is very difficult to determine the exact size and shape implant you will require to best match your ideal breast image without an examination by a board certified plastic surgeon. Not just any board certified plastic surgeon, but one with many years of frequently performing breast augmentation surgery including different approaches, techniques and implant choices. This is because several measurements not to mention your breast characteristics are needed to determine the optimal implant size to obtain your goals. Without knowing these dimensions it would be difficult to make this determination. For example, the existing base width of your breast will determine, in many cases, the maximal volume per implant profile that you can accommodate. To illustrate; a 100 cc difference may make a significant difference with a narrow base width breast, but much less of a difference if you have a wide chest wall and wide breast “foot print”. Therefore, just because your friend may have a great result with let’s say a 385 cc implant to make her go from a “B” cup to a full “C” cup size does not mean that you will have the same result with the same size implant. . Further simply placing implants in a bra to determine the size best for you is not always accurate as the bra often distorts the size, is dependent on the pressure the bra places plus the implant is outside your breast and not under it among other variables. Computer software morphing programs that automatically determine the best implant size can be helpful in some but not all cases (e.g. doesn’t work well in my experience with existing implants, sagging or asymmetric breasts). Using “want to be” photos however are useful if simply provided to the surgeon as I will further explain in the link below.#BreastLiftWithImplants#BreastLiftWithFatTransfer

Answer: Is 385cc the right volume for me? Spending a lot of time thinking about cc's and cup size is extremely common among women undergoing breast augmentation. Rather than fixating on the number, focus on conveying the "look" you are trying to achieve. You can bring in photos off breasts you think are attractive. You can also use the external sizing system or 3D imaging to help. From there, your surgeon will need to examine certain aspects of your anatomy including breast width, skin laxity, nipple to fold distance etc, to determine not only what implant size and style would best give you the look that you want but also if a lift would also be required. It is important that you feel comfortable moving forward so see your surgeon as many times as you feel necessary.
