Answer: Breast augmentation revision Dear Jeancy123, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Revision Based on the submitted photos with 295cc implants in place, 500cc implants may be too big for your frame. The weight of the implants should be considered as well as this may lead to needing a lift earlier than you'd prefer. Going up in volume 200+cc will increase you multiple cup sizes.

Answer: Implants The 500 cc implant will be much too large for your frame and tissue and will not look good. Long term, it will stretch and thin your own tissue and sag from the weight. Please do not go up to that size. If you go much larger, you will just have two balls sitting on your chest and they will feel hard.

Answer: Increasing implant size Based on the pictures you’ve included, your breast look perfect and I suggest keeping the size you currently have. If 95% of your breast is implant, then your breast are going to look like implants. The less breast tissue you have to start with, and the bigger the implant you choose the more unnatural the appearance will be. Choosing and plants should primarily be done based on what diameter size your frame can handle, and then dial-in the appropriate profile based on what size breast you’re trying to achieve. Women with small diameter breast, who want very aggressive augmentation need to use the highest profile implants. Women with wide breast who want modest augmentation do better with low profile implants. Using excessively large implants leads to undesirable secondary side effects, increased complications, and increased needs for revision surgery. Personally, I think you’re good where you are. There’s an expression all plastic surgeons are familiar with the goes “the enemy a good is perfect”. Sometimes it’s not a bad idea to stop while you’re ahead. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
