I've Had a small inguinal hernia for the past 20 years it has not hurt or bothered me in anyway I do not want to get it hernia repair due to the possibility of lifetime chronic pain and discomfort due to scar tissue and nerve pain I'm looking for a Doctor Who can Lipo around it because the mons pubis(groin) is usually below the regular liposuction area . The size of the hernia is 1cm
Answer: BBL Hi, thank you for sharing your question. If your medical doctor and general surgeon feel that it is safe to proceed with liposuction in the presence of a small hernia, you should be able to proceed with caution. I would recommend that you discuss the risks with your plastic surgeon and obtain a CT scan to plan for the surgery properly.

Answer: BBL candidate Dear jinealilah27, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is possible to do liposuction with inguinal hernia. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Hernia and Liposuction Some plastic surgeons are comfortable doing liposuction with significant hernias in place and others are not. I would imagine most plastic surgeons would be comfortable doing liposuction but it depends on the size of the hernia. The process is still the same. Patients need to go through interviewing plastic surgeons to help find the appropriate provider and that’s the time to find out how each individual provider feels about working with someone who has a hernia. It doesn’t matter what a plastic surgeon says on realself what matters is hottest provider feel who’s going to do your procedure. Delivering high-quality consistent Liposuction result is more difficult than people believe. For this reason I encourage patient to find the most talented and experience provider in their community. The only way to do this is to compare providers by having multiple in person consultations. During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for Liposuction results of the area you’re interested in. An experience provider should easily be able to demonstrate 50 sets a before and after pictures. A highly experienced provider will have hundreds to thousands of before and after pictures for just abdominal Liposuction. I also recommend patients read all the various reviews on all physician review websites and eliminate providers who have a significant number of justified negative reviews. Typically the surgeon who has the greatest collection of quality before and after pictures and virtually no negative reviews is the one you’re looking for. The degree of variance in Liposuction outcome purely based on who does the procedure can be staggering. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of choosing the most talented providers specifically for Liposuction. Delivering consistent high-quality results for what seems like a simplistic procedure is way more difficult than people think. It takes an entire career to master this procedure and even at the end of the career some still can’t do it right. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
