I want to go back to my surgeon, but I am a little intimidated by him. Let me just say that I am not a difficult person, if anything I’m the opposite. If I had any questions for him after the surgery he acted as if I was insulting him. I would really like to have some Knowledge and reinforcement about how long this smartlift should last. He told me between 6 and 10 years. I have taken excellent care of my face. I’m so disappointed.
Answer: How Long does a Smartlift Last I'm sorry to hear that your lift is not lasting as long as you wished. Many docs call their "lifts" by many names, thus it is difficult to determine exactly what type of lift was done based on the name of lift only. Most lower facelifts and necklifts performed today have both the muscles (platysma and SMAS layer) and skin tightened. Even if they are indeed both tightened, it is possible for the lift to not last as long as hoped for. Some reasons are patient dependent (ie weight loss/gain, diabetes, smoking, hormonal changes, stress), while others are technique dependent (surgeon). The bottom line is that you need to feel comfortable, and trust, your surgeon. If you feel that your current one is not a good fit, then it is reasonable to seek another surgeon who can perform a revision for you. It is super important to find a surgeon who performs many facelifts/necklift/minilifts etc. (even as his/her specialty), since they will probably have the most experience in dealing with revision cases and patients who have had prior surgery.

Answer: Lose skin After you have surgery, the conditions of your skin and maintenance of it is invaluable to preserve the results of your surgery. Your skin will continue to age but we can slow the process with a good skin regimen. Also the condition of your skin specially sun exposure is very important for the future of your results.

Answer: How long does a facelift last? thanks for your question. "Smartlift" can mean different things to different surgeons however, in most people the smartlift lasts just as long. However, many people who only have mild signs of facial aging go for the smartlift and therefor, it may seem as though it doesn't last as long. I like to tell patients, even after a facelift, you will continue to age, so changes will occur after the procedure. As others may have said, most patients find that the surgery will last between 5-10 yearsDr Bonaparte

Answer: A Facelift Doesn't Stop The Ageing Process Thank you for your question. As surgeons when performing a facelift you have to tighten the SMAS muscle and remove the excess skin. By doing this a facelift should last between 5-10 years depending on your skin quality, genetics, lifestyle and how you look after your skin. A patient who has a facelift at 45 years old is likely to get a longer lasting result than someone of 70 years old. This is due to their skin quality as they have lost more collagen. This doesn't mean a facelift will last 7 years and then start dropping. It means once you have your facelift, year on year it will get a little looser until at 5-10 years you look how you did at the start. Unfortunately, a facelift doesn't stop the ageing process this still happens. If you look at your before and after pictures, you should see that 2-3 years on you do not look as tight as 1 week after surgery, but you haven't gone back to how you looked before surgery. A facelift will always ensure you are looking at least 5-10 years younger than your age. It is important to look after your skin after a facelift to help the longevity. Invest in non surgical approaches such as Botox, Filler, Chemical Peels, Laser, Good Skin Care Regime to help keep your skin looking refreshed. If you have any questions or concerns it is important your surgeon is there to listen to you All The Best

Answer: Facelift Effectiveness It is not too clear what "Smart lift" is, but facelift cannot prevent natural aging process. Usually, SMAS Facelift lasts long and this may depend on your own condition. The most important part for a long lasting facelift surgery is the dissection part. If the dissection part is performed well and the patient condition is taken care well, then the surgical result should last long. Also, it is important to pull up not only the skin layer, but also the SMAS layer for a natural and long lasting result.
