Is BBL worth it for minor redness in the cheeks? (Photo)

Hello! I Have researched that BBL/Moxi can be a great option for those looking to treat mild redness in the face. I have red undertones in my skin, but i do see very small broken capillaries in my cheeks. 38F

Vbeam laser is an excellent modality for patients who have rosacea, blushing of the skin, facial and body telangiectasia, spider veins, redness, post surgical redness, and skin flushing. It is a safe procedure that can be used at varying depths to help treat micro blood vessels in the skin. We also use it in our office for facial skin inflammation, keloids, and hypertrophic scarring. It is an important part of scar therapy. Vbeam can be combined with chemical peels and other lasers, but experience with the treatment is essential. The Vbeam laser does not affect deeper tissue. I would be remiss if I didn't suggest that you exercise a great deal of "buyer beware" caution when consider the many of the expensive, light and energy-based "bells and whistles" gizmos being hawked out there. The hard science to support the use of these often "here-today-gone-tomorrow" devices lags woefully behind the heavy marketing hype and social media buzz to promote them.
Low intensity electrodessication, on the other hand, has been used with gratifying results for many decades for the treatment of facial telangiectasias ("broken capillaries"). 
As to the persistent redness (erythema) you describe, there are a couple of topical Rx medications that have proven quite helpful for this. Microdroplets of Botox have likewise been used successfully for addressing this.  You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist who can help you with both these aesthetic issues. Hope this helps and best of luck.

You are an optimal candidate for either the combination of BBL and Moxi, or if you wanted to start off smaller, BBL is an outstanding standalone treatment. BBL has decades of research at this point demonstrating not just improvement in reds/veins/rosacea and sun damage (you may be surprised how much of that comes ou), but also addressing the genetic causes of aging. After 15 years of working with skin, I tell my patients that if they are going to pare back their routine to the barest and most essential things it’s sunscreen and BBL. The patients who do that have skin that barely seems to age, even over 10-15 years, very different that the patients who focus entirely on Botox and fillers, Moxi boosts the benefit and will give additional improvement in surface texture. You may want to seek out ClearSilk as well which is another Sciton treatment for redness that is great in a standalone series or results with a single BBL/Ckearsilk. Get an in person consult or two with providers who actually have the Sciton laser, and they will be able to give you your best options after an exam.
