I realize that Botox isn't a filler but I have heard of some people getting Botox injected into the lips. Can this provide an overall smoother lip? And is it possible to create more of a permanent pouty look for however long it lasts by weakening the muscles near the mouth? Thanks! Just curious

Answer: Botox in the lips Botox can be helpful in very specific concerns of the upper lip or downturned corners of the mouth but overall, the indications are few. It will certainly not make your lips more "pouty." That is really the realm of artfully placed fillers.

Answer: Botox in the lips? Thank you for your question. Botox is not injected into the red part of the lip. At times, it is injected in the upper lip skin to paralyze the muscle around the upper lip that contributes to the fine lines around the lip skin. At times this can help to relax the fine lines but at the cost of not being able to purse the lips well (whistle, use a straw, etc)

Another option for the smokers lines is to fill them with a filler which works really great. A third surgical option is a very popular procedure called lip lift which overall shortens the upper lip and gives you more youthful and attractive appearance.
