Hiya. I got Botox for my 11s and across my forehead over 2 weeks ago. When I went back a week later to get tear trough fillers and cheekbone fillers, my Botox had not worked at all. Not even slight change. My plastic surgeon administered more Botox to my 11s and forehead and now 5 days later - there’s still no change at all. I have full movement etc... What on earth is wrong with me?
Answer: When Botox does not work The number one reason that frown lines don't respond to treatment, if freshly mixed Botox, a lot that is not expired, is ineffective, is not the patient, but that too few units were used. It could also be placement. To not get a relaxation of muscle contraction in the glabella is so rare that before giving up on Botox and wasting money switching brands to Dysport or Xeomin, which all work the same, I would suggest giving the last treatment a full two weeks duration and if there is still no result to have another board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist inject Botox. It is not unusual for me to have to inject 20 to 25 or more units of Botox in the glabella for some women who have large muscle bellies and 35 or more units in some men to get a good relaxation of muscular contraction. 9 or 12 units may not be enough for you. Check to see how many units you had each time.

Answer: Botox Thank you for your question. Patients respond to different procedures in uniquely personal ways. If you do not respond positively to Botox, then you, your administer and your board certified facial plastic surgeon should consider other filler options to work towards creating your desired aesthetic appearance. Best wishes,

Answer: Botox not working There are at least two reasons for this. One is antibodies as previously mentioned. This is not antibodies to the actual Botox molecule, but rather to the protein that carries it. It is for this reason that I switch to other companies products like Dysport or Xeomin in patients who do not have a good reaction to Botox Second is injection technique and dosing. We are seeing an increase in non-experts and non-core aesthetic physicians performing these procedures, and such it’s not a wonder that there are sub optimal results. There are large variations in anatomy between individuals, and my injection points are never the same. This is even in the same patient, as the musculature changes over time (you start recruiting new accessory muscles and the expression and needs change over time). Make sure you see a board-certified cosmetic physician practicing in one of the core specialties for optimal results.

Answer: No Results With Botox Some patients have antibodies to Botox, I would contact the office for a follow-up. If you still have no responded to the Botox injections, I would ask if they have a different neurotoxin that could be used, such as Dysport or Xeomin. Best of luck! Always follow-up with the provider that administers your injections.
