Thank you for the great question about chins and neuromodulators, such as Botox, which relax muscles. As usual the answer can be short, medium or very long. The short answer is yes, Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Juveau, all neuromodulators, may well help you achieve the result you want. Now for the medium version. As every face is quite different, chins are likewise a very special part of your appearance. Any plan might best be aimed at addressing what you are wanting to tune, not fix, while at the same time not grossly changing your appearance and certainly not the function of your lips and mouth. You could think in terms of tuning rather than fixing as there isn't any problem. You look great as you are. I am presuming that what you are calling chin "lines" are really the grooves that lie vertically at the outermost part on both sides of your chin. The grooves are in large part created by or certainly accentuated by your chin muscles. The muscle closest to the groove is the DAO which is short for depressor anguli oris. That muscle pulls down the corners of the mouth. We do commonly put a little neuromodulator in that muscle, such as Dysport or Botox in order to quiet the DAO. Also, as that muscle is then more relaxed it does over weeks and months reduce in bulk making for some slimming in the area. You will appreciate both the relaxing and slimming as a lessening of the depth of the groove. There are other muscles in the neighborhood that need to be considered. There is a DLI- depressor labii inferioris which is likely best left alone. There is also the mentalis muscle in the middle at the bottom of the chin which can also be relaxed if one wants to make the chin less prominent. Please make sure that you are evaluated by a doctor familiar with the anatomy and regularly giving treatments in that area. Best of luck!
