Botox, as with the others in the same family of relaxers, such as Dysport, Xeomin and Juveau irreversibly binds to the muscles it is placed in or near within 15-45 minutes. We ask our patients to stay more or less upright for an hour after and that is all. I have added to your question by asking "how about filler". Fillers are a totally different thing. The relaxers are very small molecules that go stick to nerve endings. Technically speaking they bind presynaptically to high-affinity sites on the ends of cholinergic nerves.Fillers on the other hand are large and sit as a broad area wherever we put them. Please, say no to fillers anywhere near the time, either before or after for days, of a colonoscopy or teeth cleaning or gum work or infection somewhere in the body. Bacteria that get in the blood stream, for example as a result of the activities in the previous sentence, could find their way via the blood stream and get deposited where the filler is thus infecting the filler.
