Answer: Hypercoagulable state and Botox injections Botox injections will be safe and effective with your particular prothrombin mutation. You have no more risk for clotting with Botox injections than you would any other day of the week. More invasive surgical procedures need to be approached more cautiously if you are entertaining these in the future.

Answer: You shouldn't have a problem getting botox Hyper-coagulability disorders are more of a concern after having a procedure which could increase your risk of a blood clot in your leg such as a tummy tuck. Procedures like botox injection don't increase your risk of blood clots so you should be able to safely have the injections done like anyone else! Hope this helps! -Dr. Halka

Answer: Does a clotting disorder prevent you from getting Botox? No, not at all. You can safely have Botox with a heterozygous prothrombin mutation.Only tiny amounts of Botox are injected, and Botox does not interfere with the clotting in your blood.

Answer: Clotting and Botox There is no concern with botulinum toxin (e.g. botox, dysport) and having any clotting disorder including Factor 2. Botulinum toxins have no impact on the clotting cascade.
