Ten years post rhinoplasty - Simple fix for rhinoplasty cartilage issue? (Photos)
About a decade ago, I had a rhinoplasty which seemed successful at the time. Once the swelling went down however, it was clear I had a piece of cartilage that was separated from the tip. Over time, it has become increasingly prominent, now it kind of drives me nuts! My new ENT is very good and suggested that I not do anything about it, that the effort to repair it would be not worth the risk. However, after reading about it more - I am wondering if the protruding tip is actually a graft , and not my native cartilage. I am hoping that if that is the case, if then a revision would be a much simpler procedure. Rather than create new cartilage, I was wondering if the protruding tip could be eliminated? Is it possible that this protruding element is an alar graft or some other graft used to support the existing cartilage? If so, does that in fact make it a simple procedure?
