Hi doctors! It's been 1.5 years since my initial surgery for breast implants with a lift/reduction on one breast to correct asymmetry. The asymmetry is still very obvious, almost as if no reduction or lift was done at all. The surgeon agrees I need a revision, to reduce & lift the larger breast. I'm considering switching to a new surgeon. How would you approach this revision?
Answer: Breast revision The lifted breast has too much skin in the lower pole. If this was a lollipop type lift it needs to be converted to an anchor lift with a scar under the breast

Answer: Revision With an incision under the breast, the excess breast tissue can easily be removed. Your nipple is in good position.

Answer: Mini lift Your breasts are asymmetrical in volume, shape and position. You will need a repeat lift done on both sides. The technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear BoobTour2020, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Lift and reduction revision Not sure what went wrong with your first surgery, but you should probably get some other in person consults. If you are happy with your smaller breast, it would not be hard to revise the larger breast by removing tissue from below the nipple to get very close symmetry in size and shape. Good luck.
