7 months post op and I feel a vibrating sensation in the breast - could this be nerves regenerating?

Hi, I’m 7 months post op from breast reduction surgery. I had a t zone opening a5months and now it’s completely healed. I’ve been having vibrations in that same breast for the past month. The vibrations seem to come and go 15-20 seconds and last only a few seconds each time. My question, is this normal at 7 months out? Could it be nerves regenerating still at this point? Should I be concerned? I have no other issues. Thank you in advance!

You are correct. We tend to get sharp pains or vibrating sensations while our nerves are reforming after any surgery that involves stitches. Just be patient, it will disappear in time

Your healing time is up to one year and nerves do try to regenerate when they can. Odd sensations can be occurring now and should slowly settle down. This is normal.

Hello, thank you for your question.  What you are more than likely experiencing is the nerve endings growing back or regenerating.  It can take some time for this to occur, and they come and go just how you are explaining.  There is no need to be concerned and in time they will stop.  Best of luck!

The vibrating sensation in your breast 7 months post-op is likely due to nerve regeneration, which is a normal part of the healing process and can continue for up to a year or more. If it’s not painful and there are no other symptoms, it’s usually not a concern. Consult your surgeon if the sensation persists, worsens, or is accompanied by swelling or redness.

Though at seven months post op you are healed from the major aspects of the surgery, there is still healing occurring.  These changes in sensation can occur for a year or more.  They do not sound concerning, but you can visit with your surgeon if they become worrisome.

It’s common for women to have changes in breast sensation for many months after breast reduction surgery.
I’m guessing by about a year to 18 months things should be pretty stable.
There’s not a lot to do about this at this time.
