Every time I smile I have prominent forehead veins. How can I know that my injector won’t inject into the veins? How do they detect veins? Also, what would happen if they did inject Botox into a vein? Thanks!
Answer: Avoiding veins with Botox treatment Whenever getting Botox treatment bruising is always a possibility. An experienced injector should use techniques that minimize bruising, but you can never guarantee it will not happen. If your veins are prominent that is all the inspection that is needed. If the needle where to get into a vein, bruising would happen and the injector should stop immediately. If they were able to get into the vein without bruising you would notice dilution of the vein as you injected and would stop immediately. A very low dose of toxin would get into circulation but would be diluted by your whole body blood supply so it should not cause any harm. However if you had any symptoms medical evaluation is needed. If you are in ever in Miami, Fl we would love to help.

Answer: Forehead veins If your veins are that obvious, your injector will likely be able to avoid them just by looking at your face. No special device is necessary. . I would be sure to point them out and tell him/her your concern. If your injector does hit the vein, you will likely bruise or swell, but nothing dangerous or life threatening. There are numerous vessels in our face that we cannot see while injecting. If you ever notice a little bruise on yourself, or someone else after being injected, that is the result in a small vessel being nicked with the needle. The swelling and bruising will resolve within a few days. Nothing to worry about! It happens to all patients and injectors.
