When I had my facelift, my surgeon did not do a platysmaplasty via chin incision + instead addressed the platysma muscle laterally + 1tsp under chin lipo. I love the results on my face, but my neck bands are still very prominent just under the chin + look like they are being pulled apart + there is some scar tissue. My surgeon said I need a "corset platysmaplasty" and referred me to a facial plastic surgeon for the procedure. Is there a huge difference between waiting 6 or 8 months for surgery?

Answer: Revision facelift surgery It really all depends on the approach for the platysmaplasty. If your surgeon is going to only make an incision under your chin, then you don't need to wait very long as technically, you only had liposuction to the area on your neck. If the surgeon is going to perform the platysmaplasty by doing both a midline platysmaplasty via the chin incision and then making incisions behind the ear to elevate the lateral platysma again, then its better to wait the 8 months for as much healing and scar tissue to resolve.

Answer: Plastysmaplasty Surgery Hello, Revision operations depend on the healin of previous surgery, if you totaly heal, you can be operated to revise it, all swelling should be dissolved. Your issue can be addressed to small platysmal bands a midline incision and corset platysmaplasty. However, you need to have a detailed examination to make certain assessment and customised treatment plan.
