I am interested in getting my inverted nipples corrected. I had liposuction to my abdomen and the post op recovery was awful. I am wondering if the post of is as bad after nipple surgery? How long are you required to wear the special bras? Also, what is scaring like?

Answer: Recovery after nipples surgery is not bad Recovery after nipple surgery is not bad. It depends on what the procedure actually entails. If you are correcting an inverted nipple normally a bandage is applied and the removed after 2 or 3 days. Reduction of the areola may require more time as well as reduction of nipple projection. Pain is not as extensive as liposuction and most people are able to return to normal daily activities the same day. Depending on the procedure exercise may be limited for 1 or 2 weeks to allow for adequate recovery. No special bras required.

Answer: Inverted Nipple Correction Surgery.... The surgery for correction of inverted nipples is pretty minor. The scar is usually placed at the border of where your areola meets your skin. Most patients have little pain. The cause of inverted nipples is usually that the ducts to your nipple are too short and pull your nipple inward. The correction therefore usually requires cutting those ducts. Therefore, we do not recommend doing this until you are done having children/breast feeding. There are other ways of correcting the inversion without cutting the ducts, but the results are not as reliable. DiscoverTheBeauty.com No special bras required. I usually have patients wear any bra they want with either a bandage to protect their nipple or Nipple Shields which are available at most pharmacies or on amazon
