If one of my nipples is about 1-2 cm lower than the other, is a simple "nipple lift" going to fix it or will it just stretch out again and go back to its original position? Does the whole areola need to be removed and replaced higher? What is the solution to this
Answer: There are several different options including surgical and nonsurgical options to correct asymmetrical nipples There are a lot of factors to consider but this is a common procedure that most people don’t even know is an option. This can typically be done in the office under local anesthesia. Usually there are no drains, no outside stitches, and patients can go out in public the same day. Additionally with recovery, there're many things we do to expedite healing such as nerve blocks during surgery, oral supplements, skin care and scar therapy recommendations, lymphatic massage sessions that are included in our pricing.I strongly feel that it's very important to have an honest conversation with your surgeon about your particular situation, lifestyle, work environment and specifically which procedures you're having done so that you both have the most honest answer about your recovery and are realistic with expectations and results.I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of breast and nipple surgery.I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. Answer: One nipple is lower Dear BrittE92,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Can I lift my lower nipple up to match my higher nipple Hi and thank you for the question. Yes you can absolutely change the location of your lower nipple. We use mastopexy (breast lift) techniques to do this. To move a nipple/areola by 1-2 cm we typically use a "donut" mastopexy technique which involves a scar that goes all the way around the areola. It is a simple procedure that we do in the office all the time under local anesthesia. I would go see a few board certified plastic surgeons who have great reputations for cosmetic breast surgery. Best of luck to you. Dr West

Answer: Nipple asymmetry Nipple asymmetry is fairly common and can be fixed in several ways. The easiest is to perform a unilateral peri-areolar lift. However, I have seen that mostly you need to operate on both nipple-areolar complexes to balance.
