I have a facial scar that is over four years old and I am considering Microneedling to improve its appearance. The scar is slightly indented and has poor tone and texture. My question is, the scar currently has some minor pain presumably from nerve damage from the traumatic injury. Is there any way Microneedling at any needle length can cause nerve damage? Is Microneedling effective for treating trauma scars or is it just better for acne scars? Thank you.

Thanks for your message! You can use OTC hydrocortisone cream to reduce the redness. It is important to keep the area well hydrated during the healing process HA5 is an excellent option. If no tenderness or irritation occurs you can also use make up to cover up the redness...
This may give some improvement. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
