Light sensitivity & occasional double vision after Botox?

Question

I’ve had Botox & dysport about 5 times now, on my forehead & around my eyes for laugh lines. I’m only 25 so I do about 30 units total. I always seem to get light sensitive & occasional double vision when I first open my eyes in the morning or go from a dark to light room. Once my eyes adjust it goes away.. is this normal or is my injector doing something wrong?

I would recommend that if your symptoms are not rapidly getting better, you should be assessed by an ophthalmologist. These are spreading effects of the botox and they are unpleasant. It is not very common for individuals to experience this type of side effects from a botox treatment. Some individuals are more sensitive botox and experience these type of symptoms even for cosmetic botox dose. Trying a different brand of botulinum toxin does not generally make any difference. My best advice is to try treatment one more time if you desire when this service wears off perhaps with a different injector. If you experience these types of symptoms again, I would avoid future botulinum toxin treatment.

The symptoms you describe are not typical after a Botox treatment.  If this has started to occur since your treatment I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.  A visit to a specialist may be indicated to rule out concerns.
