My chin protrudes when I smile and I've always thought I needed chin shaving but when I don't smile my chin looks fine.

You seem to have a mild case of dynamic chin ptosis. That means that the chin ptosis is only present when to smile or animate. This best treated with Botox to the mentalis muscle.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your chin when you smile. Not that your chin protrudes during the smiling process, but there is a retraction of the muscle groups and soft tissue above the chin that makes it look this way.
