My Wilson's disease is well managed at this point. Is breast augmentation successfully performed on patients with pre existing conditions like this? I am on currently taking nadolol, have been under anesthesia before. Liver enzymes have been consistently normal for over a year now.
Answer: Liver disease and breast augmentation If medically cleared and stable and your surgeon and anesthesia team are on board, then there should be no contraindication for surgery. I recommend an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of former patients with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the implants have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Answer: I have a history of chronic liver disease and cirrhosis. Can I get a breast augmentation? Pretty much no. Breast augmentation is totally elective surgery that should be performed on healthy patients. Underlying conditions, especially liver disease, will rule you out from most plastic surgeons. If you can find someone willing to do your procedure, it would best be done in the hospital setting so advanced monitoring can be done.

Answer: BA candidate Dear Imaginative300328, you will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Breast augmentation with a stable pre-existing condition. Safety is always paramount when considering anyone’s surgery. A breast augmentation is usually a straight forward procedure, however, getting medical clearance from your primary care doctor and your heptatologist would be required as they have the most complete understanding of how surgery would affect your pre-existing condition and how your pre-existing condition could affect your surgery. The next step would be a detailed consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon covering all aspects of the procedure based on your unique anatomy. Visit any prospective plastic surgeons website for a through review of before and after photos. Best wishes.
