I had a BBL and the post-op notes state most of the fat was put at the top and sides of my butt. Hardly any fat was put at the bottom area near the gluteal crease. My butt looks round and full at the top but kinda flat in the middle and a bit saggy at the gluteal crease. I’m hoping as it all softens it will all drop or migrate down my butt filling more the middle area and bottom. Does this occur?
Answer: BBL post op Thanks for your question...What you may be seeing is swelling starting to settle. Fat cells shouldn't migrate. I suggest waiting until you are fully healed. Please followup with your PS if you are still concerned. You can learn more on our social media (Instagram and Snapchat): @realdrsix. Regards,

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift About 60% of fat from the transfer is retained and the results are permanent. The size will change with your weight just as the rest of your body does. In other words, the fat acts like it was naturally there. You can get a good idea of the final result after 6 months.

Answer: Fat migration in BBL Hi, thank you for your question. Before and after photos would help a lot in answering this question. There is usually no fat migration after BBL, but you need to keep in mind that there is some fat resorption after the procedure. This means that not all the fat that was injected will survive and stay. You have no control over which area may lose more or less. This may also depend on how well you followed the post op instructions. For example if you are sitting long hours without the special pillow then the fat that has more pressure put on it has a higher chance of not surviving and if that's the middle of the buttocks, then that might contribute to a flatter look in that area. Also after full recovery which can take up to 6 months you may decide on doing a second BBL(if you have enough fat to liposuction) to fill in the areas that need it more. Hope this has helped, and good luck.

Answer: Does fat injected during a BBL migrate down or drop at all as it softens and swelling goes down? The fat typically should not move far from where it was placed. You will lose some volume as the swelling goes down and there is some resorption of the fat (only 60-70% of what is transferred survives) but the volume should not change locations if it was injected properly. That being said, there are a lot of different techniques for doing a BBL and there are unfortunately a lot of surgeons doing BBL that don't actually have a technique and just put a big pool of fat in the butt. In that case the volume could easily move. Assuming you used a board-certified plastic surgeon that's an unlikely scenario. I'd suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined so your question can be more specifically answered by the person who performed your procedure. Hope that helps!

Answer: Does fat injected during a BBL migrate down or drop at all as it softens and swelling goes down? This is actually a pretty technical response, but the answer depends upon who did this procedure and how this procedure was performed. If a great deal of fat was injected into the gluteal musculature, the musculature will be in spasm and will appear higher. When the muscles relax, the buttock will not appear high. Just think about when you flex your buttocks - they appear higher.
