Is my eye healing properly? Small but active chalazion removed 4 days ago. (Photos)

Question

I got a small but active chalzion of 6 months, removed on wednesday the 11th of january, that was four days ago. It is still swollen and my eye wont open up all the way. Is this abnormal? Will the swelling ever go down or is my eye permently damaged.

Thank you for your question. You are well within the normal healing process after chalazion removal. And it seems to be healing well. I would give it a few more days for the swelling to subside and then follow up with your doctor. Best of luck, Dr. Heffernan

It is not unusual for the swelling to last few days with some bruising !!.  If after 2 weeks, you still feel the area of chalazion is tender or swollen, make sure to revisit your ophthalmologist !
